Matthew W. Ottone
Matthew Ottone, a partner with Ottone Leach & Ray LLP, was born and raised in Salinas, California and received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law. Mr. Ottone specializes in real estate, land use and business law. He has extensive experience in counseling multi-generational family businesses for the purposes of succession planning, handling large-scale commercial real estate developments and transactions, and advising small businesses in entity formations and general corporation matters.
Mr. Ottone has served as an appointed member of several governmental boards and committees, including the City of Salinas Measure V Oversight Committee, the City of Salinas Redistricting Committee, and the Monterey County Planning Commission. He currently serves as a board member for the Big Sur Land Trust, STAR Foundation of Monterey County and the Salinas Valley Tourism and Visitors Bureau. He also serves as an attorney coach for the Palma High School Mock Trial team. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
Anne C. Leach
Anne Leach is a partner of Ottone Leach & Ray LLP. She practices in the areas of family owned businesses, real estate transactions, estate planning, probate and trust administration and non-profits. Anne graduated from Salinas High School (1985), the University of California at Berkeley (B.A. in English and History, 1990) and Santa Clara University School of Law (J.D., 1993). Anne lived in Ancona, Italy for the 1985-1986 school year as a foreign exchange student on the AFS Americans Abroad program.
Anne Leach was born and raised in Salinas, California. She is a fifth generation Central Californian on both sides of her family.
Anne has served on the Boards of the following community organizations: Salinas Rotary Club (President), Sun Street Centers (President), SPCA for Monterey County (President), Hawley Central California AFS Endowment Fund (President), Bruce Church Educational Foundation (President), Sally Hughes Church Foundation (President), National Steinbeck Center (President), Public Recreation Unlimited (Secretary) and Salinas Valley Half Marathon (Secretary). She is also a member of the State Bar of California, Monterey County Bar Association, Monterey County Women Lawyers Association, California Women for Agriculture, the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Salinas Valley Class XIII. The Salinas Jaycees named Anne its Outstanding Young Citizen in 1996. She was the Salinas Rotary Club’s new member “COG” of the year in 1997 and Rotarian of the year in 2009. The Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce honored Anne with the Athena Award for businesswoman of the year in 2008. Anne was also given the Trustee Award by the National Steinbeck Center for 2009. Junior Achievement of the Silicon Valley and Monterey Bay inducted Anne into the Monterey Bay Business Hall of Fame in 2010. Sun Street Centers presented Anne with their Luminary Award in 2012.
Gary R. Ray
Gary Ray, a partner with Ottone Leach & Ray LLP, has more than 20 years’ experience
working with hospitals, medical groups and ancillary healthcare facilities and providers. Mr.
Ray holds a J.D. from Hastings College of the Law, an M.B.A. with honors in finance from
The Anderson School at UCLA, and a B.A. with honors in Economics from the University
of California, Irvine. He also studied comparative political systems at Pembroke College,
Cambridge University, England.
Mr. Ray specializes in healthcare law and public entity representation and has experience in Brown Act compliance, public entity contracting, performance and payment bonds and public financing compliance issues. He represents several California healthcare districts and medical groups, as well as independent physicians and other healthcare providers. Mr. Ray also represents clients in the areas of corporate organization, partnerships, limited liability companies, general business transactions, real estate and intellectual property.
Mr. Ray is a member of the State Bar of California, the Monterey County Bar Association and the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Salinas Valley program and serves on the board of trustees of York School.
